FAQ's & Fees

So what will this cost?

The fee for a 50 minute session is $185 and is paid via a credit or debit card linked through a secure client portal. Depending on your provider, some Health Savings Account cards are accepted. Payments are automatically processed on the day of your session.

I do reserve spots for those needing a sliding scale if needed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are in need of financial assistance.

Many churches have agreed to pay for or assist in paying for services for their pastors and ministry leaders, so please seek that assistance if available.

Does my insurance cover the cost?

I am an out-of-network, private pay provider. Many insurance companies will reimburse for therapy sessions (typically not coaching). Please contact your provider to inquire about whether your plan offers partial or full reimbursements for out of network services. If requested, I can arrange to have you automatically receive a monthly statement/superbill to submit with your claim forms for reimbursement.

What is the session length and frequency?

The standard meeting time is 50 minutes. Arrangements can be made in advance, however, for 30 minute or 75 minute sessions if agreed upon and deemed appropriate. The fees for these sessions will be prorated accordingly.

Counseling sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly basis at first and often transition to biweekly or monthly as treatment progresses. Coaching sessions can often be scheduled at more sporadic times depending on your needs and goal achievement.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy that is standard for the industry. This is because the time is held for you and it is often not possible to fill the space in shorter than that time frame. Emergencies do happen though, so please discuss those with me and arrangements to waive the fee will definitely be considered.

Are video sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

I was skeptical at first, but truly found video sessions to be as effective as when I met with clients in an office. In fact, research has been conducted and has shown that video sessions produce similar treatment outcomes to in-person sessions. Many of my clients have actually preferred meeting through telehealth because of the convenience. No more commute time and/or finding child care. Clients can take the sessions from the convenience of their homes, offices, cars …. parks, balconies, make-shift offices in the garage etc. You get the point, anywhere you have privacy and a good internet connection.

How do I reach you in between sessions?

The best way to contact me is through email. Texting is appropriate for scheduling purposes and brief content or questions. Please safeguard your privavy when using electronic means of communication, however, as confidentiality cannot be ensured. You may also leave messages on my confidential voicemail.

Is there paperwork to fill out?

My practice documents will be sent to you for completion through a HIPPA secure platform called Simple Practice. You will receive an email to set up your client portal and you will be able to access it at https://davidrohrbach.clientsecure.me. Please complete the paperwork prior to our initial session. That will ensure that I have a chance to review it and be better prepared with the background information you share prior to meeting.
